Democrats handwave the real election threat: illegal migrants voting
As the November election draws ever closer, a familiar theme is emerging: election integrity.
Thursday saw the Supreme Court reverse a judge’s strikedown of an Arizona law requiring election officials to reject any state voter-registration forms submitted without proof of citizenship.
But how on earth did we even get to the point that this was a problem?
Because Democrats have done everything they can for years to pretend that what is euphemistically called “noncitizen voting” is simply not a problem.
First, some grim numbers.
States across the nation have over the past decade stricken tens of thousands of voters from their rolls after those voters were found to have admitted they were not citizens in interactions with state and local governments.
Add in the fact that in a dozen-plus Democratic-run areas (like San Francisco, natch) illegals are already permitted to vote in local elections — obviously a greased path to voting in federal ones.
Then there’s the Biden-Harris illegal-alien tsunami.
Joe and Kam have let in millions of illegal immigrants since 2021.
And a hideous new study suggests that as much as 27% of them may be illegally registered to vote.
Then there’s the fact that the Justice Department seems completely uninterested in going after illegal voters en masse, a bizarre fact given Democrats’ endlessly stated obsession with “defending democracy.”
What’s a bigger threat to democratic legitimacy than a city’s worth of people voting who have no legal right to?
Even more eyebrow-raising is the fact that Senate Dems stopped the SAVE Act — a bill meant to address this very problem — dead in its tracks in July.
Gee, wonder why.
Couldn’t be that the party is all-in on open borders, which means turning a blind eye to all the resultant chaos illegal immigration causes.
Worse, some are plainly counting on illegal votes breaking their way in an election that’s looking like a dead heat.
The tactic is as stupid as it is cynical, of course.
No matter whom the illegals vote for, every vote they cast is both a crime and a blow struck at the heart of our electoral process.
A clear cry to American citizens, with their faith in government hovering near all-time lows, that their rights simply don’t matter to the bigwigs.
Unquestionably secure and legitimate elections are the backbone of a functioning democracy — and Democrats seem content to let ours fall apart.
Thursday’s decision is good news, but SCOTUS still isn’t granting GOP requests to block potential tens of thousands of voters already registered, possibly illegally.
That’s why officials nationwide concerned about real election integrity must take up the banner of the good fight.
Otherwise?
November will only usher in chaos.
