Former NBA player Delonte West’s situation was more serious than it initially appeared. According to reports, police were attempting to serve West a warrant when he fled on foot.
Although officers gave chase, they briefly lost sight of him and eventually found him unresponsive on the ground. Narcan, which reverses the effects of opioids, was administered but initially failed to work.
West was then transported to a local hospital, where another dose of Narcan was given successfully.
