Deebo Samuel breaks 49ers fans’ hearts at the club
Deebo Samuel is out there breaking San Francisco 49ers fans’ hearts everywhere.
If there was any sliver of hope over Deebo Samuel wanting to remain with the San Francisco 49ers, here he is completely crushing that notion while partying at the club.
You can smell the alcohol through the screen, but Samuel nixed the idea of him coming back in this video. People were celebrating like a reigning Heisman Trophy winner was coming back to school for his senior season. The camera quickly panned over to the man of the hour. He pretty much did on video what Julio Jones did over the phone breaking up with the Atlanta Falcons on Undisputed.
Samuel is in the final year of his 49ers’ rookie contract after being drafted out of South Carolina.

There are a few components that have led to Samuel wanting out of San Francisco. Obviously, he wants a new contract, but his role as a wide receiver who can carry the ball out of the backfield has led to an interesting wrinkle in figure out how to pay him. His former offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel is gone, and there is some belief that Samuel would want to play closer to home.
The Inman, South Carolina native could draw interest from teams like the Atlanta Falcons, the Carolina Panthers and even the New York Jets on the trade market. Atlanta and Carolina are within driving distance of his hometown. As far as Gang Green is concerned, the Jets are led by former 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, so he has some connection to that staff over there.
While the 49ers have all the leverage in this situation, it is hard to see Samuel wanting to return to Santa Clara for his fourth NFL season. With the NFL Draft rapidly approaching, the 49ers will have to act swiftly if they want to receive compensation in the form of picks this year as opposed to next. Samuel may offer any number of teams great value, but this clock is about to strike midnight.
Though he may so want out of San Francisco, Samuel may not get traded until later this summer.
