Darvin Ham after Lakers’ win vs Nuggets: “Tonight we needed to prove something to ourselves”
The Lakers won their first game of the season as they defeated the Nuggets (121-110). It was also Darvin Ham’s first win as an NBA head coach.
After the game he was thankful for his players, coaching staff as well as the management for supporting and trusting in him. According to Ham, the Lakers needed to prove to themselves that they can win.
“Tonight we needed to prove something to ourselves, not to the world, not to the media,” he said. “We had to prove it to ourselves. I felt great about how we responded throughout the game when we have these little lows, but guys would come back and we make a play, we get a big stop, get a big rebound. Guys just kept fighting all 48 minutes even though at times things didn’t go our way. They just stayed resilient.”
