NFL rumors: What should fans make of Dak Prescott’s extension talks, Jonathan Gannon’s diss, and Tom Brady’s retirement plans?

The NFL combine is well underway, but that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill. While most general managers are doing their due diligence prior to the NFL Draft, some have serious decisions to make regarding the futures of their star players.

NFL free agency is just a few weeks away. Teams must make decisions on who to prioritize, and perhaps who to franchise tag before then. General managers are hard at work to agree to contract extensions with their own valued commodities prior to the start of free agency.

NFL rumors: Cowboys are passive about Dak Prescott extension

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys have a potential out of their contract agreement after the 2024 season. Given Prescott’s routine disappointments in the postseason, it’s not crazy to assume Dallas will look at all their options before giving him an extension.

Jerry Jones and Stephen Jones would be wise to extend Prescott beyond just this season, but he’s in the same boat as Kirk Cousins these days — good, but not good enough to win a Super Bowl. In the end, that is the ultimate goal for America’s Team, no?
