Cowboys in injury hell with Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence

The Cowboys are hurting despite Thursday’s win over the rival Giants.

Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence are both expected to miss time after suffering injuries during Dallas’ 20-15 win at MetLife Stadium

Parsons left the game late in the fourth quarter after suffering an ankle injury when Giants right guard Greg Van Roten fell on his leg during a play.

Dallas revealed Friday that the star pass rusher is dealing with a high ankle sprain and is considered week-to-week, according to the Associated Press.

One of the top defensive players in the NFL, Parsons has at least 13 sacks in each of the past three seasons, although he has just one through four games in 2024.

Lawrence’s diagnosis is even more dire.

The four-time Pro Bowler sprained his left foot during the third quarter and “is expected to miss multiple weeks,” per NFL Network.

The 32-year-old defensive end was off to a strong start in 2024, registering three sacks and four tackles for loss in four games.

Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy said Friday that their injuries “are worse than [they] anticipated,” although Lawrence is worse off than Parsons, ESPN reported

McCarthy added that both players are getting second opinions on their injuries.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones struck a more optimistic tone on Friday during an appearance on 105.3 The Fan.

“I’m pleased that they feel good,” Jones said. “Both feel good about it. That’s usually a good sign.”

The Cowboys take on the undefeated Steelers in Week 5 and the Lions a week later before their bye week in Week 7.

Dallas moved to 2-2 after their win over Big Blue on Thursday.
