Clippers are ‘picky’ in James Harden trade talks
Despite lack of progress in trade negotiations between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Los Angeles Clippers, James Harden’s desire to join the Clippers remains unwavering.
The trade saga surrounding the former MVP has stretched for over two months, with both teams unable to reach a consensus.
The Houston Rockets were once considered a potential destination for Harden. However, the Rockets’ focus on building a young and rejuvenated roster under the guidance of new head coach Ime Udoka shifted their priorities away from the former MVP.
Insights into the situation came from NBA insider Bradon “Scoop” Robinson, who shed light on the Rockets’ decision-making process.
According to Robinson, the Rockets and Udoka share mutual respect, as Udoka previously served as an assistant coach under Steve Nash during Harden’s tenure with the Brooklyn Nets in the 2020-21 season.
While Houston opted to prioritize their rebuilding efforts, the Clippers have emerged as Harden’s preferred destination.
However, trade discussions with the Clippers have not been without challenges, as the team is maintaining a discerning stance on what assets they are willing to part with in exchange for Harden. This cautious approach includes considering the future of young talent like Terance Mann.
