Chari Hawkins posts heartbreaking Olympics video

American heptathlete Chari Hawkins wishes she could give herself “a hug” following last week’s Olympic heartbreak at the Paris Games.

In a video shared Sunday on Instagram, Hawkins — who “no heighted” in the high jump, the second of seven heptathlon events — reflected on the gut-wrenching moment while thanking the masses for their support.

“I have never watched my own heart break before. I wish I could give her a hug,” Hawkins captioned the emotional moment as Taylor Swift’s song, “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart,” played in the background.

“Thank you to everyone who has shared kind words and comfort over the last few days.”

Hawkins then told followers there will be “more from me soon.”

A first-time Olympian, Hawkins garnered international headlines Thursday during the high jump portion of the heptathlon event, when she failed to clear the 1.71-meter mark on all three of her attempts and received no score.

“Oh my gosh. I don’t even know what to do. I’m like literally so shocked right now,” Hawkins said afterward.

An emotional Hawkins was later seen embracing British Olympian Katarina Johnson-Thompson.

Despite a crushing start to the Games, Hawkins — whose personal best in the high jump is 1.84 — continued the heptathlon, placing 21st overall.

“Love that you kept competing. Way to show everyone how to keep fighting when things get tough. So inspiring!!” American pole vaulter and two-time Olympic medalist Katie Moon commented on Hawkins’ post.

“You are an Olympian Char! You still showed up to every event after and showed WHY. Love you!!” Canadian heptathlete Georgia Ellenwood gushed.

The 33-year-old Hawkins hails from Idaho and competed collegiately at Utah State University.
