Cesc Fabregas agrees to surprise Serie B switch with Como
Midfield icon Cesc Fabregas is set to make Italy the next stop in his illustrious career, having agreed to imminently take his talents to the country’s 2nd division.
The outfit set to land the one-time Spanish international? Como.
For those not aware, Fabregas is currently available as a free agent. This comes after Ligue 1 club AS Monaco opted against offering the 35-year-old a new contract, ahead of the expiration of his previous terms earlier this month.
Having long left his best days behind him, though, there had been little chatter when it came to Fabregas’ next destination, with some reports having gone as far as to suggest that the midfielder was considering hanging up his boots for good.
In turn, it has come as something of a bolt from the blue to hear of the one-time Arsenal and Chelsea standout being on the verge of a move to Italy.
As per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, amongst other sources, Fabregas has reached a ‘full agreement’ with Serie B outfit Como, to take his talents to northern Italy with a view to next season.
The 110-time capped international, in turn, will put pen to paper on a contract through 2024 in the coming days, with an official announcement potentially set to arrive as early as this weekend.
