When Swift returned to the stage Nov. 20, she didn’t expressly mention the tragedy, but she did add “Bigger Than the Whole Sky” as one of her surprise songs—which fans around the world quickly took to be a tribute to Benevides.

The 34-year-old also met with Benevides’ family, who were spotted in a VIP area at her Nov. 26 show.

“I lost my only daughter, a happy and intelligent girl,” Benevides’ father, Weiny Machado, told Folha de São Paulo (per a translation from Portuguese into English) the day after she died. “She was about to graduate in psychology next April, saving money. I have no words to express my pain. She left home to fulfill a dream and came back dead.”

After the tragedy, event organizer Time 4 Fun announced plans to distribute free water at all future shows in Rio (Swift fans had noted online that, on the day Benevides died, they hadn’t been allowed to bring their own water bottles into the venue) and said multiple medical stations and mobile ICUs would be set up around the stadium.

In announcing that the show would not go on Nov. 18, citing “extreme temperatures” in Rio, Swifted noted in a statement, “The safety and well-being of my fans, fellow performers, and crew has to and always will come first.”

The bond between these two remains unbreakable. 

Bruce Willis and his wife Emma Heming Willis have officially been together for 16 years—a milestone the model was sure to commemorate. 

“16 years with this special man,” Emma captioned her Dec. 27 post, which included two photos of her and Bruce kissing each other’s cheek. “My love and adoration for him only grows.”

The 45-year-old also showed her love on her Instagram Story, resharing her post with the caption, “16 years together?! Lord where did the time go,” and in a subsequent slide, “Smitten.”

Emma and Bruce—who share daughters Mabel, 11, and Evelyn, 9, in addition to Bruce’s three daughters Rumer, 35, Scout, 32, and Tallulah, 29 with ex-wife Demi Moore—tied the knot in 2009. In recent years, their blended family has been candid about the Armageddon actor’s struggles with frontotemporal dementia, a more specific diagnosis he received in February after previously being diagnosed with aphasia in 2022.

And the choice to be so open about Bruce’s health is one the family came to for a specific reason. 

Rocky‘s first Christmas was udderly adorable. 

Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker showered their baby boy with magical presents on Dec. 25, with Travis posting a photo of a white play tent topped with Rocky’s Santa hat and filled with toys.

That wasn’t all under the tree for Rocky. The Kardashians star and Blink-182 drummer revealed that he received a Manhattan Toy musical llama ($61), a learning toy that’s meant to help toddlers with motor skill activities. This is Travis Kelce trying to take accountability for his mid-game display of frustration.

The Kansas City Chiefs tight end reflected on the team’s Christmas Day loss to the Las Vegas Raiders—during which he angrily spiked his helmet on the sidelines—and didn’t hold back how he felt about his performance.

“We handed that team a win on Christmas,” Travis explained on the Dec. 27 episode of his and brother Jason Kelce‘s New Heights podcast. “We literally played Santa and gave them a present. That was embarrassing. Everybody in the building knows how embarrassing that was.”

Adding that the team will quickly get over the defeat as they move on to play the Cincinnati Bengals on New Year’s Eve, the 34-year-old added, “It’s frustrating when you know you got the guys and you got everybody that you need and things just aren’t going your way.”

In fact, this boiled over when Travis threw his helmet in anger, prompting coach Andy Reid go over and to talk to him. 

For her part Shannon, who dated John for 3 years before their Nov. 2022 split, spoke out about her ex’s new romance shortly after the relationship was made public.

“I’m not going to lie, I’ve been hurt,” the 59-year-old exclusively told E! News on Dec. 6. “I’ve been hurt a lot in the last couple of weeks because, No. 1, John said that he didn’t want to be in the public eye, and he’s thrust himself more into the public eye at this point. So, I’m quite confused about that.”

“John is very well aware of a lawsuit that I was involved in with Jim Bellino, and Alexis was involved in that lawsuit,” the mother of three explained. “I was financially and emotionally devastated for years. And I won. But it devastated me financially. And I’m a single mom. John’s aware of that.”

She added, “I don’t know how to process it. How many Orange County Housewives have there been? Is that your dating pool?”

The international acting community is mourning a painful loss. 

Lee Sun-kyun, who starred in the Academy Award-winning film Parasite, has died, South Korean police confirmed to NBC News. He was 48.

Police told the outlet that Lee was found dead in a parked car in Seoul on Dec. 27 with a charcoal briquette in the passenger seat. Law enforcement started looking for the actor when his manager reported Lee had left home after writing what appeared to be a suicide note. 

The actor, per the Associated Press, had been under investigation by police over the last few weeks for alleged use of illegal drugs, however Lee had maintained his innocence. 

His management company, HODU&U Entertainment, shared a statement with ABC News that read, “There’s no way to contain sorrow and despair,” asking that the public “refrain from spreading false facts based on speculation and malicious reports so that the deceased’s final journey will not be unfair.”

In addition to sharing that there are plans for a private funeral for friends and colleagues, the statement concluded with, “We express our deepest condolences on the deceased’s final journey.”

Sunisa “Suni” Lee may be the reigning all-around women’s gymnastics champion, but for a while she wasn’t sure if she was going to be able to return to defend her title at the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer.

The 20-year-old, who enrolled at Auburn University after winning gold at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, made the tough decision to step off the mat and end her college career in April due to a “non-gymnastics health related issue” that she later shared was an incurable kidney disease.

And though she declined the invitation to attend the U.S. team selection camp for the world championships in September, she is still hoping to recover in time to compete in Paris, an impressive feat considering her health issues almost ended her career permanently. 

“It was really scary and really, really heartbreaking,” Lee told E! News in an exclusive interview. “I definitely went through a little bit of a mental spiral because gymnastics is my outlet and it’s my safe space.”
