In 2018, “I was suffering mentally and emotionally and I wasn’t able to stay all kept up and together,” she said while accepting the McLean Award, given to those who have furthered the public’s understanding of psychiatric illness and mental health, at the Massachusetts hospital’s annual gala in September 2019. “I wasn’t able to keep a smile or to keep things looking normal. It felt like all of my pain and my anxiety washed over me all at once and it was one of the scariest moments of my life.”

“I sought support and the doctors were able to give me a clear diagnosis,” she continued. “The moment I received that information, I actually felt equal parts of terrified and relieved. Terrified, obviously, because that veil was lifted, but relieved that I had the knowledge of why I had suffered for so many years with depression and anxiety.”

Noting how grateful she was for the support system, she added, “Although this does not mean that it has all gone away, I can say that after a year of a lot of intense work, that I am happier, I am healthier and I’m in control of my emotions and thoughts more than I’ve ever been.”

Meanwhile, amid her acting hiatus, Emma has continued to keep her personal life private. In fact, she shared she was “very happy” being single in an interview with British Vogue last year, adding, “I call it being self-partnered.”

Now, reflecting on those remarks, she clarified that those remarks weren’t “necessarily about me celebrating being single.”

“Getting to the point when I was 30,” Emma explained, “I was realizing, ‘Oh, maybe I’ve figured out some things about how to care for myself better—maybe quite well, actually.’ And taking pride in that.”

But these days, the Renais Gin co-founder is not alone: Emma finds support and companionship in her beloved rescue dog Sofia.

“I just look at her and I’m like, ‘Well, I’m happy and you’re happy,'” she noted. “The thing that is so amazing about animals is they’re just so good at being. Food, humans, sleep—they’re very good at the basics. I feel like whenever I get really overwhelmed, I’m like, ‘Emma, just do the basics.’ ”

It’s a golden moment for Shawn Johnson and Andrew East.

After all, the duo welcomed their third baby on Dec. 12.

“Our baby is healthy and that’s all we can ask for!” Shawn, who welcomed the newborn via C-section, shared in their FamilyMade newsletter on Dec. 14. “Recovery is always a process and I’ve learned to be really patient with my body.”

“Not trying to rush anything and really just going to soak it all in,” she continued. “The third time around feels so surreal because even though we’ve done this twice before, there’s still so much nervousness and excitement around the days leading up to the birth and then so much magic once you get to hold your sweet baby in your arms for the first time.”

Shawn and Andrew’s littlest one joins big sister Drew, 3, and brother, Jett, 2. And when it came to learning the sex of their newborn, the gold medalist, 31, who first announced her pregnancy in July, opted to keep it a surprise until the bundle of joy’s arrival—just like they did with their eldest.

“There was something so special with Drew about Andrew finding out first in delivery and being able to tell me,” Shawn exclusively told E! News in July 23. “It’s his little celebration moment. It was really, really special. And so we’re like, ‘Let’s just do that one more time.'”

The two have yet to publicly share the name or sex of their third child.

“It’s honestly all her, she just makes it so easy,” Dome, who joined her husband on the Call Her Daddy episode, noted of working and hanging with Swift. “Before we’d even gone to film the music video, the first text she sent him when she was pitching the idea, she included me in it. And she is so inclusive of me in everything, which is so kind of her. But she’s just kind, and she’s very thoughtful. She makes it very easy.”

In fact, Lautner was never concerned about how the two Taylors in his life would get along. After all, Dome is a certified Swiftie.

“I know on paper, it sounds like a tough situation, but I not once was ever worried about it,” he said during a July episode of his and his wife’s The Squeeze podcast. “We’re just confident in our relationship. [My wife] is the coolest, chillest person ever. She also is a diehard fan of that person.”

Karma Is the Guy on the Chiefs…

Once her split from actor Joe Alwyn after six year together was confirmed in April, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was ready to shoot his shot with the superstar.

During a July 26 episode of his New Heights podcast, Super Bowl winner shared his failed attempt at meeting the singer during her Eras Tour concert—which ended up catching Swift’s attention nonetheless.

“Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” she revealed to TIME. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.”

So, yes, the pair were dating for a few months before their romance nearly broke the Internet when she appeared at the Sept. 24 Chiefs game. As Swift put it, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

Unlike her previous relationships, Swift and Kelce haven’t been shy about being photographed together, with Swift attending six games thus far and Kelce traveling to Buenos Aires to attend her Nov. 11 Eras Tour show. And the singer gave her boyfriend a sweet shoutout by changing a lyric in her song “Karma.”

Instead of singing, “Karma is that guy on the screen coming straight home to me,” the pop star replaced the word “screen” with “Chiefs.” After the concert, the pair were spotted kissing off-stage.
