Karolina Shiino is giving back her crown.

The Miss Japan winner renounced her title after a local magazine reported she had an affair with a married man. 

“I’m very sorry for causing the tremendous trouble,” she wrote on Instagram Feb. 5, according to the Associated Press‘ translation, “and for acting as if betraying everyone who has supported me.”

The 26-year-old initially said she did not know the man in question—doctor and influencer Takuma Maeda—was married but has since backtracked, per the AP.

Maeda also issued an apology on social media following the scandal—noting he was sorry he “caused trouble” for Shiino and others involved. Meanwhile, the pageant organization said in a statement obtained by the AP that it “takes seriously our responsibility for causing the ruckus.”

As for who will take over for Shiino as Miss Japan, Kaoru Wada, chair of the Miss Nippon Association, told CNN the position will remain “vacant.”

Brittany Cartwright is giving an update on her fractured friendship with Stassi Schroeder.

Nearly two years after she and husband Jax Taylor had a major falling out with their former Vanderpump Rules costar, Brittany revealed the trio still have some work to do to get back to where they once were.

“I want nothing but the best for Stassi,” the 35-year-old exclusively told E! News while promoting her partnership with Jenny Craig. “We’re definitely not as close as we were and I definitely miss her so, so much. But, we’re nice to each other.”

Especially since they run in the same crowd and see each other at events like Lala Kent‘s recent sobriety party.

“We give each other hugs,” she said of Stassi, who is mom to daughter Hartford, 3, and 5-month-old son Messer with husband Beau Clark. “Hopefully, one day we can get back how we used to be, but I’m so happy for her and her beautiful family.”

While the couple’s relationship with Stassi remains a work in progress, Brittany and Jax—who share 2-year-old son Cruz—remain close friends with fellow VPR parents Lala—mom to Ocean, 2—and Scheana Shay, who shares Summer, also 2, with husband Brock Davies.

The country music singer died peacefully on Feb. 5 following a yearslong battle with stomach cancer, a statement posted to his website confirmed. He was 62 years old. 

Surrounded by family, according to the message, Keith “fought his fight with grace and courage.”

After learning of his death, his fellow musicians paid tribute to one of their own.

“Saddle up the horses, Jesus, ’cause a true blue COWBOY just made his ride up to heaven!!!” Carrie Underwood wrote on Instagram. “Introduce him to all the Okies and sign that boy up for the choir! We’re gonna miss you, Toby, but my heart has no doubt that you are standing in the presence of our King right now!!! See you again someday, friend.”

Meanwhile, Jelly Roll added, “Toby inspired millions and I was one of them RIP.”

Keith’s passing comes more than a year and a half after he publicly shared his cancer diagnosis.

In the end, though, he kept their power couple status and his relationship with Solange intact. “We had one disagreement ever,” he said in a 2017 podcast interview. “Before and after, we’ve been cool.”
