Did Billie Eilish Shade Taylor Swift With ‘Wasteful’ Comment? – Hollywood Life

Billie Eilish‘s latest interview about the music industry is having Swifties buzzing. The 22-year-old Oscar winner emphasized how “wasteful” it is for “some artists” to release vinyl records. Though she didn’t mention any celebrity by name, some fans believe that Billie was referring to Taylor Swift, since the 34-year-old Eras Tour pop star announced multiple editions of her upcoming album, The Tortured Poets Department.

“We live in this day and age where, for some reason, it’s very important to some artists to make all sorts of different vinyl and packaging … which ups the sales and ups the numbers and gets them more money and gets them more …” Billie told Billboard on Thursday, March 28. “It’s so wasteful, and it’s irritating to me that we’re still at a point where you care that much about your numbers and you care that much about making money — and it’s all your favorite artists doing that s**t.”

The “What Was I Made For?” hitmaker further stressed that she “can’t even expressed” how “wasteful it is” for top artists in the business to release several vinyl editions.

“It is right in front of our faces, and people are just getting away with it left and right, and I find it really frustrating as somebody who really goes out of my way to be sustainable and do the best that I can and try to involve everybody in my team in being sustainable,” Billie said, adding, “And then it’s some of the biggest artists in the world making f**king 40 different vinyl packages that have a different unique thing just to get you to keep buying more.”

Billie then recalled watching The Hunger Games recently, which led her to think about this problem, “because it’s like, we’re all going to do it because [it’s] the only way to play the game. It’s just accentuating this already kind of messed up way of this industry working.”

Earlier this year, Taylor announced the news of her upcoming album at the Grammys. During her worldwide tour, the “Love Story” artist announced several new editions of the album: “The Bolter” and “Black Dog.”

As for Billie, she released her 2021 album, Happier Than Ever, in vinyl, but the multiple versions were sold with recycled black vinyl and were wrapped in sugar cane-made shrink wrap. The colored editions of her album were sold with other recycled materials.

Beyoncé has been teasing the Beyhive with cowgirl-themed outfits in the weeks leading up to the release of Cowboy Carter. Now that it’s here, the 42-year-old Grammy Award winner isn’t slowing down her fashion game. She posed for the latest cover of W magazine, and the photo shoot paints the perfect picture of a western movie.

Queen Bey graced the cover of the publication wearing an oversized feathered coat and a cream cowgirl hat. In another shot, she posed in a black leather poncho, wearing her blonde hair in long braids and accessorizing with a black cowgirl hat. A third image featured the “Texas Hold Em’” artist lassoing, wearing open brown leather pants, a matching belt and cowgirl hat and a white tank top.

Based on the background of the snapshots, she posed for the photo shoot on a ranch.

After several weeks of anticipation, Cowboy Carter has finally been released. The album features duets with Dolly Parton, Miley Cyrus and Post Malone, in addition to covers including “Jolene” and The Beatles’ “Blackbird.”

Ten days before releasing the new music, Bey opened up about the inspiration behind the country-themed album. She penned a lengthy Instagram post on March 19, including the album cover art, which features her riding a white horse and holding the American flag.

Pamela Hanson

“This album has been over five years in the making,” the “If I Were a Boy” hitmaker explained in her caption. “It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed … and it was very clear that I wasn’t. But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of country music and studied our rich musical archive. It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history.”

Pamela Hanson

Bey also pointed out that the “criticisms [she] faced” when she “first entered this genre forced [her] to propel past the limitations that were put on [her].”

Act II is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work,” Bey continued. “I focused on this album as a continuation of RENAISSANCE … I hope this music is an experience, creating another journey where you can close your eyes, start from the beginning and never stop. This ain’t a country album. This is a “Beyoncé” album.”

Sean “Diddy” Combs Seen for First Time Since Federal Raids at Homes

Sean “Diddy” Combs has resurfaced.

Three days after authorities raided the rapper’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami, the 54-year-old was seen having a family night out.

Combs was photographed at Topgolf in Miami March 28 with his 17-year-old twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie, who he shared with the late Kim Porter. And as the Grammy winner—who is a father of seven—walked by the paparazzi, he flashed them the peace sign.

On March 25, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents executed search warrants at Combs’ L.A. and Miami properties, multiple law enforcement sources told NBC News while noting the warrant was out of the Southern District of New York.

During the searches, guns were found and the Department of Homeland Security seized phones from Combs in Miami before he was scheduled to take a trip to the Bahamas, law enforcement sources familiar with the warrant service added to the outlet.

Four people have since been interviewed by prosecutors and investigators from the Southern District of NY about allegations of sex trafficking, sexual assault, the solicitation and distribution of illegal narcotics and firearms supposedly tied to Combs, a source told NBC News.

RHOP’s Candiace Confronted With Explosive Cheating Rumor

Candiace Dillard Bassett‘s final Real Housewives reunion is going to be a doozy.

That’s because The Real Housewives of Potomac star, who announced earlier this week that she’s leaving the show, is confronted with a shocking rumor about her husband Chris Bassett in E! News’ exclusive sneak peek at part one of the Bravo series’ season eight reunion.

In the preview, Candiace’s feud with Gizelle Bryant rages on as Gizelle confronts the “Drive Back” singer for bad-mouthing her on social media.

“As I have watched the show, it’s, ‘F–k Gizelle, f–k Giselle, f–k Gizelle,'” she notes, “‘Gizelle’s an imp. Gizelle’s the devil. Gizelle is evil. Gizelle is raggedy ass. Nasty ass Gizelle. Gizelle should be fired.'”

Candiace responds of the name-calling, “All true,” adding, “Everyone up here, I believe, has received some form of a death threat. I think it is dangerous, and extremely unfair to conflate me having an issue with her, with her then receiving death threats.”

The Cast Drama, Release Date News and More Updates – Hollywood Life

The love for Scream reached new heights after the release of Scream 6, but the future of the franchise is up in the air. In its opening weekend, Scream 6 broke the franchise record by making $67 million at the box office. Scream 6 was the second film featuring a new generation of stars, including Jenna Ortega, Melissa Barrera, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

In November 2023, Melissa was removed from the cast of Scream 7. The actress was fired from the film over her comments regarding the Israel-Hamas conflict. One day later, it was reported that Jenna would not be returning for Scream 7 because of her Wednesday season 2 shooting schedule. Now, new details have been revealed about the Scream 7 drama. Mason explained to Variety in March 2024 why the seventh installment could still happen.

That month, the original final girl, Neve Campbell, confirmed that she will be starring in the next film, reprising her role as Sidney Prescott.

So what does this mean for Scream 7? Hollywood Life is breaking down everything we know about Scream 7.

Is There Going To Be A Seventh ‘Scream’ Movie?

Yes, Scream VII is officially on. It was confirmed in August 2023 when Christopher Landon was announced as the new director. He’s taking over from Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

The fifth Scream movie was released in January 2022. After it became a box office success, Scream 6 quickly got the green light. The sixth Scream movie filmed quickly took place from June to August 2022. Scream 7 was delayed due to the writers’ and actors’ strikes of 2023.

‘Scream 7’ Release Date

There’s no release date yet for a seventh Scream movie. Given the ongoing casting changes, it’s unclear when Scream 7’s production will get underway.

‘Scream 7’ Cast

Following Scream VI‘s success, everyone assumed Scream 7 would feature the return of Scream’s “Core Four,” which includes Jenna as Tara, Melissa as Sam, Mason as Chad, and Jasmin as Mindy. They all managed to survive their latest round with Ghostface.

However, the Core Four is now the Core Two in the wake of Melissa’s firing and Jenna’s departure. Jenna’s exit is due to her Wednesday season 2 filming schedule. The Golden Globe nominee is expected to film the second season of the Netflix hit from April 2024 through the summer. Jenna reportedly asked for a “bigger payday” in order to return for Scream 7 and had no deal in place after Scream 6, according to THR.

Melissa was fired a month before the news broke, according to THR. Prior to her firing, her deal to return for Scream 7 had reportedly been finalized. “Spyglass’ stance is unequivocally clear: We have zero tolerance for antisemitism or the incitement of hate in any form, including false references to genocide, ethnic cleansing, Holocaust distortion or anything that flagrantly crosses the line into hate speech,” Spyglass, the production company behind Scream, said in a statement regarding Melissa’s removal.

There’s been no word about Jasmin and Mason’s roles in Scream 7 amid these changes. Spyglass boss Gary Barber supposedly doesn’t believe that “stars nor large salaries are essential” for the success of the Scream franchise. “He didn’t need Neve, he doesn’t need Jenna,” an insider told THR. Scream 7 was reportedly going to be the “end of a rumored trilogy focused on the two Carpenter sisters.” While some insiders believe the future of the franchise is in “shambles” and “very raw,” a full-scale reboot could be on the horizon.

Hayden Panettiere’s long-awaited return as Kirby Reed paved the way for more of the beloved character in the future. She was stabbed again by Ghostface, but she survived. She told Tara and Sam to call her if they “ever” needed anything. Kirby was the perfect bridge between the original legacy characters and the newbies. She also formed a sweet bond with Tara. Bring Kirby back, Scream 7!

Courteney Cox’s Gale Weathers also survived another brutal attack by Ghostface. Courteney is the only original Scream character to have appeared in all six films so far, and she is in talks to return for the seventh installment, per The Hollywood Reporter.

As with all previous Scream films, a new batch of supporting characters would be introduced in Scream 7. One or a few of them could be the new Ghostface!

Will Neve Campbell Return For ‘Scream 7’?

Following her absence from the sixth movie, Neve announced that she signed on to reprise her role as Sidney for Scream 7.

“Sidney Prescott is coming back!!!!” she wrote in an Instagram post in March 2024. “It’s always been such a blast and an honor to get to play Sidney in the ‘Scream’ movies. My appreciation for these films and for what they have meant to me, has never waned. I’m very happy and proud to say I’ve been asked, in the most respectful way, to bring Sidney back to the screen and I couldn’t be more thrilled.”

She continued, “While I’ve been so incredibly lucky to make these films with both the master of horror Wes Craven and the wonderfully talented Matt and Tyler team, I’ve dreamt for many years of how amazing it would be to make one of these movies with Avery Thompson Kevin Williamson at the helm. And now, it’s happening. Kevin Williamson is going to direct Scream 7! This was his baby and it’s his brilliant mind that dreamt up this world. Kevin is not just an inspiration as an artist but has been a dear friend for many years. To the amazing Scream fans, I hope you are as excited as I am. See you on set @kevwilliamson.”

The Scream world was shocked in June 2022 when Neve revealed that she would not be returning as Sidney Prescott in Scream 6.

“Sadly, I won’t be making the next Scream film,” Neve said in a statement. “As a woman, I have had to work extremely hard in my career to establish my value, especially when it comes to Scream. I felt the offer that was presented to me did not equate to the value I have brought to the franchise.”

Neve’s absence was felt in Scream 6. She was mentioned briefly after the latest set of Ghostface attacks. Gale revealed that Sidney wouldn’t be coming to New York. Sidney and Mark took their kids to a safe spot to hide out from Ghostface.

Neve’s decision to not come back didn’t completely change the story of Scream 6. “This was always the story we wanted to tell, which is really exciting we were able to do it,” writer James Vanderbilt told Variety. “The Sam and Tara sister story was always the thing we wanted to be front and center in this. We love Neve and think she’s amazing and had a great experience with her on [Scream] 5. She needs to do what she needs to do as a business woman and we totally support that.”

Director Tyler Gillett added, “I think what ultimately happened was we knew that if anything, in the absence of that character, we had to really dig deeper into the core four and make those relationships matter in a really emotional way. The goal was to try to form a connection between those characters and the audience the way that we formed a connection with Gale, Dewey, and Sid. At the end of the day, that’s just about having the time and the real estate in your story to really dig deep. But no, it wasn’t a wildly dramatic pivot.”

Neve hasn’t ruled out bringing Sidney back into the fold. “I don’t know that I’m done for good,” the actress tells PEOPLE in August 2022. “It would really depend on what they came to me with next. It would have to be different. It would have to be a different attitude, and I’m not sure that’s going to happen.”

The actress continued, “If they came to me with a number that felt right, that felt respectful, that felt in keeping with my value that I brought to the franchise, I’d be willing to consider [returning in the future].”I don’t believe it’s dead in the water, but we’ll see. But honestly, I’m really okay. I’ve been able to let it go. I wish them well. I’m doing three different shows right now. I’m very, very grateful that I’m working. I’m happy. So all is good.”

Is Stu Macher Alive?

That’s the million-dollar question. OG killer Stu was seemingly killed in the first Scream movie after being stabbed and electrocuted when a television falls on his head. However, a legion of Scream fans are holding out hope that Stu somehow survived and has been living in hiding for all this time.

Scream 5 featured Stu’s nephew briefly, but he was killed quickly by Ghostface. The big showdown went down at Stu Macher’s old house just like in the original.

Scream 6 directly referenced Stu Macher. At the Ghostface shrine warehouse, the Core Four and others came face-to-face with key items from past killings, including the TV that supposedly killed Stu. When Kirby brings up the TV that killed Stu, Mindy quipped, “If you believe he’s dead.”

Scream’s original screenwriter, Kevin Williamson, has said that Stu is dead dead. “No, he’s dead. I think that started because of the college scene, the frat party scene because he’s standing in the background. He just came to visit set that night,” he told Collider.

The latest Scream team isn’t so concrete about Stu’s fate. “There’s no good answer, so I will never confirm or deny stuff like that,” James Vanderbilt told Variety. Producer William Sherak added, “Anything’s possible.” Producer Paul Neinstein also said, “Characters can come in and out! There’s different ways to do it. It’s such a part of all of their lives; they have an affinity for Scream.

Even if Stu is dead, he could come back as Skeet Ulrich’s Billy Loomis, who has appeared in the latest two films in Sam’s head. If Stu somehow is still alive, that would be the ultimate twist. Scream 7 could follow the theme of Scream 3: the past can always comes back to bite you.

Beyoncé pulled out all the stops for her latest album, Cowboy Carter! The 42-year-old music superstar sang brand-new covers of songs, and she even put a spin on Dolly Parton‘s hit single, “Jolene.” If that wasn’t enough for fans, Bey collaborated with Miley Cyrus on the album, which was released on Friday, March 29.

“Hey, Miss Honey B, it’s Dolly P,” Dolly, 78, sings in her interlude, before referring to “Becky” from Bey’s Lemonade era. “You know, that hussy with the good hair you sang about reminded me of someone I knew back when. Except she has flaming locks of auburn hair. Bless her heart. Just a hair of a different color, but it hurts just the same.”

Apart from the famous country music songstress, Bey duets with Miley, 31, on the song “II Most Wanted.”

“I’ll be your shotgun rider ’til the day I die / Smoke out the window, flyin’ down the 405,” the “Used to Be Young” artist and the “Texas Hold ‘Em” hitmaker sing in the chorus of their new track. “I’ll be your backseat baby, drivin’ you crazy / Anytime you like (Woah) / I’ll be your shotgun rider ’til the day I / ‘Til the day I die.”

Following the release of their collab, Miley shared an Instagram post that day, thanking Bey.

“I’ve loved Beyoncé since long before I had the opportunity to meet & work with her,” Miley captioned her post, which featured the cover of Cowboy Carter. “My admiration runs so much deeper now that I’ve created along side of her. Thank you, Beyoncé. You’re everything & more. Love you. To everyone who spent time making this song so special thank you from the bottom of my heart. Sincerely , Miley.”

Aside from Dolly and Miley, Queen Bey also invited Post Malone to sing with her on their collab, “Levii’s Jeans.” The Grammy Award winner even covered The Beatles’ single “Blackbird” from the band’s White Album. Vocalist Paul McCartney wrote the song about the deep racism that swept through the south throughout the 1960s.

Less than two weeks ago, Bey penned a lengthy Instagram caption to explain what inspired her to write a country-themed album.

“This album has been over five years in the making,” she revealed.

This golden friendship is a total slam dunk.

Oscar Winner dies – Hollywood Life

Louis Gossett Jr. has reportedly died at the age of 87. The late actor was famous for his role in the 1982 film An Officer and a Gentleman, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He was the first Black man to take home an Oscar in the category.

The Associated Press reported the news on Friday, March 29. Gossett’s cause of death has not been revealed.

In addition to Gossett’s Oscar-winning role, he was also known for his performance in 1977’s miniseries Roots, having won an Emmy Award.

Getty Images

The Brooklyn native got his start in show biz in the 1950s after auditioning for a Broadway play. After earning more acting credits, Gossett went on to play multiple film roles. In 1961, he appeared alongside the prominent Sidney Poitier in A Raisin in the Sun. Throughout the early years of Gossett’s career, Hollywood perpetuated racial stereotyping in countless films and television shows, which he opened up about in several interviews.

During a conversation with The Times in 2008, Gossett opened up about his experience in Hollywood as a Black actor.

“I had to act as if I was second class. I had to behave myself,” he told the publication that year, according to The Los Angeles Times. “The only time I was really free was when the director said ‘action’ in front of a camera or on the stage and that’s when I flew.”

Eight years later, Gossett pointed out that the film industry needed to explore more African American stories.

“Everybody knows about the Roman and the Greeks and the Vikings and the British. But there’s another culture that’s very rich: the African culture,” Gossett explained to The Washington Post in 2016. “We have to tell those stories. Our inclusion in history is important to see, especially for African American children. They have to know whose shoulders they stand on.”

Gossett was married three times. His first wife was Hattie Glascoe, whom he was married to from 1967 to 1968 when they annulled their marriage. In 1973, he tied the knot with Christina Mangosing, and they divorced in 1975. In 1987, the late actor married third wife Cyndi James-Reese, and they divorced in 1992.

He is survived by his two children: son Satie and son Sharron.
