It’s perhaps the biggest investigation of all. Do detectives date?

While the track record for detectives dating other detectives (or captains) in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit‘s 23-year history, is, well, not the greatest, the Internet has posed an interesting question: What about a detective and somebody who isn’t a member of the NYPD’s finest? Enter, SVU Detective Joe Velasco and Elliot Stabler’s daughter, Kathleen. 

It’s easy to see why the ship, dubbed “Joleen” by fans on Twitter, has taken off in popularity online. Joe and Kathleen are two beloved characters, both in a similar age bracket, and based on their appearances in their respective Law & Order shows, both appear to be single. 

So, in an investigation all our own, E! News went right to the source, asking actor Octavio Pisano what he thought of the Internet’s latest pairing.

“I’ve asked a couple people, [but] I’m not really good on Twitter,” he told E! News. “So when I do go on there, it’s just to post something I have on my mind, but when I try to find what people are talking about, I get lost in the comments.”

The colors of Olivia Rodrigo‘s debut album have many shades of meaning.

The “drivers license” singer told Vogue in an interview for the 2022 Met Gala that she has “minor, baby synesthesia.” Synesthesia is a neurological condition in which, when one sense is activated, another unrelated sense is activated at the same time. In Olivia’s case, when she hears music, she also sees color. And when she’s listening to her own music, she sees a lot of the same color.

Olivia shared with Vogue, “Lots of the songs on SOUR are purple.”

She added, “‘drivers license’ is purple, but ‘good 4 u’ is like a purple-ly blue. ‘jealousy, jealousy’ is like bright red. ‘deja vu’ is like orange and pink and light purple.'”

Olivia’s condition also explains why all of her SOUR album cover and march is drenched in shades of purple. In fact, she’s made the color part of her signature aesthetic online and on tour.

Perhaps the most frequent DMs Underwood gets are from his fans in the LGBTQ+ community who have been inspired by his coming out journey.

“A lot of heartfelt and meaningful messages were sent to my DMs, and it was very inspiring and much needed when I was going through my own struggles,” he said. “So, kindness is definitely the route to go in DMs.”

But sometimes, Underwood gets just as many NSFW DMs. “And if you’re in the mood, I guess, a lot of people prefer d–k pics, too,” he joked. “At the end of the day, a d–k pic could possibly be kind, so choose your weapon wisely.”

Answering a few questions from E! News’ fan DMs, Underwood talked about the unconventional piece of jewelry he and new fiancé Jordan C. Brown chose to symbolize their engagement. The two got engaged in February 2022.

“We have necklaces, not rings,” he said. “It’s a C with my birthstones and a J with his birthstones and then two little diamonds off to the side. And then, there’s a quote on the back.”

How did Emmy Rossum manage to embody someone who she herself describes as an “enigma”?

The short answer? A lot of research and one amazing dinner.

Rossum stars as Angelyne, the real-life figure who loomed large over Los Angeles in the ’80s—literally, with billboards across the city—in Peacock‘s new series of the same name. “She was all anybody could talk about,” Rossum told E! News’ Daily Pop in an exclusive interview. “I think she’s absolutely a fascinating icon. She’s the original influencer…the first person to say, ‘I’m going to be famous for who I am, not something that I do.'”

But even as Angelyne and her pink corvette rose to notoriety in L.A., the woman herself remained a mystery. “There are so many wild, often very contradictory stories that exist about her,” Rossum said, “so our show is a very, very unconventional look at all of the different mythologies that are surrounding this trailblazer.”

In order to sort out all the stories, Rossum went to work. Luckily, she’s a “nerd when it comes to stuff like this.” 

The Flight Attendant star Deniz Akendiz couldn’t help but take his work home with him.

On the HBO Max mystery thriller, the actor plays Max, a hacker who uses his big-tech bravado to help Cassie (Kaley Cuoco), the best friend of his partner Annie (Zosia Mamet), get out of numerous sticky—and potentially felonious—situations. 

As Max’s schemes become more detailed and intense in season two, Deniz decided to do some digging of his own.

“As I did my research into it, it just became more and more terrifying about what’s possible,” he told E! News. “There are simple safeguards to protect yourself. So, on my webcam I put a little sticker on there to block it out. Little things like that. You just become more mindful of it.”

Initially, Deniz was skeptical that any of Max’s tricks were realistic. Then he took some trips to the dark corners of the Internet.

“The things they would describe in the show, especially this season, I was like ‘people can’t do that!'” he said. “And then I’d look it up and I was like ‘Oh, they really can and there’s a manual here to be able to do it.'”

Days after Travis Barker got down on one knee with a ring for Kourtney Kardashian, she accidentally came down on it instead.

During the May 12 episode of The Kardashians, Kourtney revealed to mom Kris Jenner that she did something “really, really bad” once Kris noticed that her oldest daughter was suddenly without her gorgeous engagement ring.

Kourtney, who had her sleeves pulled all the way over her hands, said, “I’m covering it because it’s actually getting fixed. This is probably one of the worst things I’ve ever done in my whole life, by the way.”

In a confessional, the Poosh founder explained, “I was sitting on my floor folding sweatshirts, and I took the ring off and I put it next to me on the floor thinking it’d be safe right next to me. I had to get something up above in my closet, and when I stepped down, I stepped on the ring.”

Still hurt, Scott hit back, “Never in a million years would Kendall not invite me to a birthday dinner.”

While Kris tried to defend that it wasn’t “a birthday dinner,” Kendall owned up to the fact that the meal was, in fact, to celebrate her birthday. In turn, Scott asked point blank, “So, why wasn’t I invited to that?”

According to Kendall, the dinner was just for her friends, plus Kris, Kourtney and Travis. “You invited everybody but me?” he retorted.

“Just ’cause Kourt was going to be there,” Kendall responded. “It was very intimate.”

Kim Kardashian has no regrets regarding her split from Kanye “Ye” West.

On the May 12 episode of The Kardashians, the SKIMS founder gave insight into her break-up with the “Praise God” rapper, including their very different stances on the split. Kim revealed that she asks Ye “all the time” to sign the divorce papers, but the chart-topper doesn’t “want a divorce,” which has prolonged the process.

But that’s not the most frustrating part for Kim. She went on to call out the double standard she has experienced amid the separation.

“If I do something on a reality show, it’s like, ‘How dare she talk about it,'” she said in a confessional. “And then he can do a song, but that’s so creative and expressive. It always like, two different sides are being expressed two different ways, and one is respected and one is not.”

Despite the criticism, Kim told sister Kourtney Kardashian that she’s “very sure now” about the divorce.

After hearing the front door open and getting up to see what was happening, Dorit recalled, “That’s when I saw not a little person but a big person…When he saw me, he panicked and he charged at me, grabbed me, put me down. ‘Get down on the f–king ground. I’m going to f–king kill you.’ Put a gun to me and I was just hunched over.”

She pleaded in tears, “Please, I have little babies. Please, I’m a mother. Please, I beg of you. My kids need me.”

“I was begging and the other guy goes, ‘Just f–king kill her,'” she added. “All I could think in my head was I have to do anything to save these kids. They need their mommy.”
