Breaking Bad is at the center of a new political debate. 

Two statues of Breaking Bad characters Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) were erected at the Albuquerque Convention Center in New Mexico on July 29, according to Variety. However, one of the state’s leaders doesn’t fully understand the reason for having these sculptured figures on public display. 

At the statues’ unveiling, Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan said he understood that not everyone would be a fan of the statues, considering the fictional characters are infamous meth dealers who operated in New Mexico. 

“In all seriousness, no doubt some folks are going to say, ‘Wow, just what our city needed.’ And I get that,” he said, according to Variety. “I see two of the finest actors America has ever produced. I see them, in character, as two larger-than-life tragic figures, cautionary tales.” 

 

Boy, oh boy!

Sister Wives star Mykelti Brown Padron and her husband Antonio “Tony” Padron will soon be welcoming twin sons.

The couple, who wed in 2016, took to Instagram to share the news by posting a snapshot of themselves firing off blue powder poppers with their 16-month-old daughter Avalon Asa.

Mykelti noted in the Aug. 16 post, “It was the last thing we both expected for both of them to be boys.”

Although they haven’t settled on names for their kids, Mykelti added that she and Tony are “excited that Avalon will have two brothers to boss around.”

So, when does Avalon officially become a big sister? Mykelti said that her twin boys are expected on Dec. 1, “but they’re twins so really we’re thinking before Thanksgiving.”

Reflecting on expanding their family, the TLC star told People on Aug. 16 that she and Tony “will be very outnumbered sooner than we realize, it should be a fun adventure.”

Thirteen reasons to celebrate.

Tommy Dorfman revealed that she is engaged to her girlfriend on the most recent episode of Broad Ideas with Rachel Bilson, although she did not disclose her partner’s identity.

While the 13 Reasons Why actress remained mum on the details, she did confirmed that her fiancée is a cis woman and endearingly referred to her as “just a gay girl.” She also revealed her partner was an Aries who is “deeply intense.”

Tommy was previously married to Peter Zurkuhlen for five years, though they split in June 2021 and initiated their divorce in February 2022. Tommy—who came out as transgender last summer—said she began to explore her attraction to women again after the break up.

“I knew I was interested in women in a way that I hadn’t really been aware of since high school,” she explained on the podcast. “I had this unresolved, unexplored thing. I was like, ‘This is the year that I’m gonna go on some dates with girls and feel that out again, and not feel ashamed about it.'”

Millie shared photos of their exciting trip on Instagram, posting one pic of Jake kissing her. She captioned the carousel May 22 post, “te amo,” which translates to “I love you.”

At the time, Jake also shared snaps of their trip on his own page. One included a picture of Millie kissing him while another was of her in a white bathing suit at the beach. “Alexa,” he wrote, “play late night talking by Harry styles.”

After news of her death broke, Lindsey’s agent wrote in a statement to E! News, “We are deeply saddened by Lindsey Pearlman’s passing today. The family has asked for privacy during this difficult time while they process and grieve.”

The actress was known for her roles in General Hospital and Chicago Justice. Other projects of Lindsey’s included stints in Empire, Sneaky Pete, American Housewife, Selena: The Series and The Purge anthology series.

As FIFA World Cup champions and Gotham FC teammates, the parents have built a strong support system around them including fellow soccer studs Megan Rapinoe, Sydney Leroux and Alex Morgan.

“Sloane has strong females around her that show she can do absolutely anything she wants,” Ashlyn told E! News in May 2021. “The greatest gift of our friend group is they challenge us, and I know they are going to challenge Sloane and hold her accountable. Here’s The Real: Adrienne Bailon is a mom!

The television host announced that she and her husband Israel Houghton welcomed their first child together, a baby boy named Ever James.

“Our baby boy is here & we are so in love!” the new mom gushed in her Aug. 16 Instagram post. “If you have followed our love story… you know that our journey to baby has been very challenging. But God is true to His word and His promises.”

Adrienne, who has been open about her struggles to have a baby, shared that she and her husband of six years have “quietly prayed while sitting on this most magnificent secret for the last 9 months,” adding, “He is worth every tear, every disappointment, every delayed prayer, every IVF cycle, every miscarriage.”

She continued, “All we feel is joy and overwhelming love & gratitude.”

Although The Cheetah Girls alum didn’t disclose any additional about her baby, she shared that they welcomed their newborn son via surrogate.

In March, Hailey experienced “stroke-like symptoms” and “suffered a very small blood clot” to her brain.

“The conclusion was that I had a blood clot that traveled into my heart,” she shared in an April YouTube video, later adding, “My blood clot actually escaped through the flap or the hole in my heart and it traveled to my brain and that is why I suffered a TIA [a transient ischemic attack].”

Just a few months later in June, Justin announced he’d been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused him to experience temporary paralysis in parts of his face and led him to postpone some of his Justice World Tour dates. He and Hailey are both doing well—she was seen cheering him on at one of his shows after the tour resumed in July—and she’s spoken about how they leaned on each other during their health scares. 

“I think the silver lining of it, honestly, is that it brings us a lot closer,” she said during a June interview on Good Morning America, “‘cause you’re going through this together, you’re being there for each other, you’re supporting each other and there’s just something that really, like, bonds you through these times.”
