Carrie Underwood Reveals Son’s Priceless Reaction to Her American Idol Gig (Exclusive)
Washington, D.C., should prepare to be blown away by Carrie Underwood‘s talents.
The “Before He Cheats” singer will be belting it all out at President-Elect Donald Trump‘s inauguration ceremony on Jan. 20.
Underwood, 41, will perform a rendition of “America the Beautiful,” accompanied by the Armed Forces Chorus and the United States Naval Academy Glee Club, according to Axios.
“I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Underwood said in a statement to E! News. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
The American Idol alum will be a new face for the event, as America’s Got Talent runner up Jackie Evancho performed the national anthem at Trump’s 2017 inauguration.
Underwood’s performance will be just one part of the president-elect’s big day, which kicks off with a celebration and fireworks display at Trump National Sterling on Jan. 19. As for inauguration day itself, Trump—who lost to Joe Biden in the 2020 Presidential Election before beating out Vice President Kamala Harris for the presidency in November—will attend services at St. John’s Church, followed by tea at the White House before the official swearing in.
