Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium Announced With 32 New Classics

Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium has been announced for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. A sequel to last year’s Capcom Arcade Stadium, this new game will bring another 32 Capcom classics to modern consoles

While it didn’t reveal what games would be included, nor when fans can expect them, Capcom did reveal in a that SonSon will at some point be a free download. In addition, those who preorder the Capcom Fighting Collection will get Three Wonders as a launch day bonus.

The announcement didn’t reveal much else but promised that more information would be available soon. Fans may not have to wait long, as Capcom Arcade Stadium was released just two months after it was revealed in December 2020.

The original also featured 32 classic Capcom games including Ghosts ‘n Goblins, Final Fight, and Street Fighter II. While players could enjoy them in their original forms, the collection added several other features, including the ability to rewind and speed up gameplay, and more.

When IGN reviewed SonSon when it was re-released in 2011, we gave it a 6/10 and said it wasn’t worth the $8 cost. “While this monkey boy’s journey is admittedly cute and kind of fun, its value for the cash is just too far off for it to earn a firm recommendation.”

Ryan Dinsdale is an IGN freelancer who occasionally remembers to tweet @thelastdinsdale. He’ll talk about The Witcher all day.
