Cam Johnson excited for Team USA opportunity at FIBA World Cup
INets forward Cam Johnson has been selected as one of the 12 players to represent Team USA in this year’s FIBA World Cup. Johnson recently shared his excitement about this opportunity, emphasizing the valuable learning experience it offers while playing alongside top-notch talent and under great leadership.
“It means a lot, man. This is such a cool opportunity,” Johnson conveyed to Brian Lewis of New York Post. “I think it’s such a great learning experience to play alongside great talent, under great leadership. It’s an opportunity I’m gonna do my best to take advantage of.”
The 27-year-old forward’s inclusion in Team USA’s roster comes after his trade from the Suns to the Nets on February 9, 2023, in a significant deal involving Kevin Durant.
Johnson finished the season with the Nets achieving career-high statistics of 16.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game in an average of 30.8 minutes on the court.
