Bruno Fernandes inspires Manchester United to 2-0 victory against Wolverhampton Wanderers – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United came out 2-0 winners against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Old Trafford earlier today.

A first-half Anthony Martial goal before Alejandro Garnacho came off the bench to put his name on the score sheet ensured that the Red Devils got all three points.

United were good for large parts of the game and central to this decent performance was Bruno Fernandes.

The Portuguese playmaker played all 90 minutes of the clash.

His most significant contribution was an assist for Garnacho’s goal.

Fernandes had an impressive 83% pass accuracy to his name.

He registered 68 touches of the ball and completed three dribbles during the time he was on the pitch.

Fernandes was United’s main creative outlet. He made a remarkable six key passes.

The 28-year-old also created two big chances. Defensively, the United captain made four ball recoveries.

This season in the Premier League, no other player has created more chances than the United number eight.

In terms of chances created, Fernandes leads the standings with 108.

However, Fernandes’s genius has not been proportionally rewarded this term. Compared to most of their top six rivals, the Red Devils have scored significantly fewer goals.

United only boast of a goal difference of 10. In comparison, table leaders Manchester City have a goal difference of 58.

Second-placed Arsenal enjoy a goal difference of 44 while Newcastle have 32.

One cannot help but think a world-class goalscorer would help Fernandes explode even more and increase his numbers. Against Wolverhampton, United missed many chances yet again. The team has been punished severely this term but luckily, they were not made to pay by Wolves.
