Brittany Mahomes has hilarious take on Patrick Mahomes’ return to Chiefs camp
It’s officially training camp season, which means the Chiefs — like every other NFL team — are preparing for a Super Bowl run. But Patrick Mahomes has more important questions.
Mahomes is away from his wife and family for the first time in months as he prepares for his upcoming NFL season, one he hopes ends in Super Bowl glory.
The Chiefs fell just short of reaching another Super Bowl — it would’ve been Mahomes third AFC Championship — but lost to the Cincinnati Bengals in the conference title game. A motivated quarterback is a good quarterback to have, so you can bet Mahomes’ head is in the right place.
He just wants a distraction while he studies the playbook, and his wife Brittany is used to a familiar text to help him out with just that.
Ah, the perils of a world in which dozens of streaming services exist.
Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs enter season as AFC favorites
Kansas City, despite trading star wide receiver Tyreek Hill to the Miami Dolphins, are favorites in the AFC. Defensively, they should look like a much-improved unit this season with an increased focus on the pass rush.
Offensively, the loss of Hill will surely hurt, but they invested in a by-committee approach with the likes of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling being brought in from other organizations. Travis Kelce is still Travis Kelce.
Mahomes remains one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and certainly the most creative. And the offensive line around him has only gotten better with age.
So no, despite Brett Veach trading away the fastest wide receiver in the league and Mahomes’ favorite target, the Chiefs have no excuses this season.
