Former NBA player Brian Scalabrine weighed in on the no foul call against LeBron James during the final seconds of the fourth quarter of the game between the Lakers and Celtics.

“I always feel that when LeBron plays, the referees are looking for the foul,” the 2008 NBA champion said on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “I just basically was surprised and shocked that they didn’t call the foul. It’s LeBron James, he got hammered. I just don’t get it. I personally don’t get it.

“I don’t agree with the fit afterwards. If my son did this and the game went to overtime, he would be taken out. But hey, that’s just me.”

Meanwhile Frank Isola thought that LeBron’s reaction to the no foul call was over the top and warranted a technical foul.

“We had a lot of people says ‘It just shows that he cares.’ Well, I thought that he always cared,” he said. “If he didn’t care, why would he still be playing until he was 38 years old?

“And to think that that proves that you care – okay, I don’t ever remember Michael Jordan doing that, Larry Bird getting on his knees like that after a missed call. I don’t remember ever seeing that.

“I get it. It’s for the moment the reaction. I think everyone agrees that the call was missed. It’s impossible for anyone to not agree with that. And the Lakers in that moment got robbed. In fact the reaction, in fairness, was worthy of the technical.”
