Breaking down the New York Giants’ $21.55 million in dead cap in 2024
With just weeks remaining until the start of training camp, the New York Giants currently have $11.47 million in salary cap space — much of that recently cleared with the retirement of tight end Darren Waller. However, Waller also left behind a significant dead cap hit.
Better news? Giants general manager Joe Schoen trimmed some weight over the past year and the team is carrying roughly $1.2 million less in dead cap than they were at this time in 2023.
According to Over the Cap, the Giants have $21.55 million in dead cap, which is the 21st-most in the NFL. That’s a long distance away from teams like the Denver Broncos, who lead the NFL with $67.65 million in dead cap.
