After over a month of absence, Anthony Davis is expected to make his return to the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday against the San Antonio Spurs, per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

Davis will be limited in his comeback as added by McMenamin, with 20-24 minutes of play a potential range of his exposure.

The All-Star big man settled to be just on the sidelines of the Lakers after sustaining a foot injury against the Denver Nuggets in mid-December. He gradually made key progress from the past few weeks and eventually went on to ramp up his activities and rehabilitation.

Prior to his absence, Davis savored a remarkable run so far this 2022-23 campaign. He averaged 27.4 points, a career high 12.1 rebounds, 2.6 steals, 2.1 blocks and 1.3 steals on a 25-game basis. He also registered an overwhelming 59.4 percent efficiency from the field per 17.2 attempts.

Without Davis, LeBron James and the Lakers went on to tally a fair 10-10 card until this Wednesday. But the fact that the Lakers (22-26) are sitting at the 13th place of the tightly-contested Western Conference and just three wins away from the fifth-seed, his return can’t be more timely in the franchise’s hopes to climb higher above the standings with season set to reach the midway point.

As Davis will be under minute restriction for plenty of games for precautionary measures, Thomas Bryant is still expected to be there and provide needed production at center. Newcomer Laker Rui Hachimura will be activated also to lessen the heavy load of James at the wing and at front.
