After establishing himself as the de facto franchise man of the Washington Wizards, Bradley Beal only has that Larry O’Brien trophy in his head.

And he knows that once he gets that one,  main goal successfully, it’ll mean the world to him.

“I feel like if I win a championship here in D.C., the grind of it, with everything I’ve been through, all the adversity and ups & downs, that would make a win that much sweeter, make me appreciate it that much more. I do love the grind.” Beal said, via Laura Schreffer of Haute Living Magazine.

Following previous seasons of what might be considerably mediocre in collective vision, Beal has decided to stick around in D.C. on a long-term picture.

Following the opt-out that he made in his player option which raised departure speculations within the league circles, Beal signed a massive five-year, $251 million contract extension with the Wizards brass.

Within the said supermax extension, Beal has a no-trade clause, cementing his commitment to work things out and try to bring that championship to the Washington area.

“People always look at me like I’m crazy, but I have a huge desire to want to make it work here and win here. This is the team that drafted me. They’re super loyal; I have a great relationship with ownership and a great relationship with our front office.”

The last season served a challenge for Beal as the captain of the team, appearing in just 40 games upon sustaining a hand injury and eventually failing to lead them to the postseason seat after a promising start.

But the Wizards are setting themselves up in this return he made. Upon the acquisition of Monte Morris, Will Barton, Taj Gibson and Delon Wright, with Kristaps Porzingis rejuvenated to perform well, the club is prepared for a 2022-2023 season that offers high hopes and aspirations.
