Brad Pitt sees Angelina Jolie divorce settlement as ‘clean slate’

Brad Pitt is looking forward to a “fresh start” after he and ex-wife Angelina Jolie finally reached a divorce settlement, a source tells Page Six exclusively.

“It’s been a long road, but Brad is so thankful to start the new year with a clean slate and a fresh start,” the insider says.

The “Fight Club” star, 61, feels the settlement is the “perfect way to ring in the new year and couldn’t think of a better way to begin 2025.”

Jolie, 49, filed court documents about the agreement Monday in the Los Angeles Superior Court after eight years of intense litigation.

Pitt is “relieved to put this chapter behind him,” the source tells us.

The “Maleficent” star filed for divorce from her “Mr. & Mrs Smith” co-star in 2016. The exes share six kids: Maddox, 23, Pax, 21, Zahara, 19, Shiloh, 18, and 16-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.

“More than eight years ago, Angelina filed for divorce from Mr. Pitt,” Jolie’s attorney James Simon said in a statement to Page Six on Monday.

“She and the children left all of the properties they had shared with Mr. Pitt, and since that time she has focused on finding peace and healing for their family. This is just one part of a long ongoing process that started eight years ago. Frankly, Angelina is exhausted, but she is relieved this one part is over.”

Our source echoes, “There are still other aspects that need to be ironed out legally between Brad and Angelina, such as the ongoing Chateau Miraval lawsuit, but Brad considers this aspect a big win.”

The “Moneybag” actor sued the “Girl, Interrupted” actress in February 2022, alleging she had breached their contract by selling her Chateau Miraval stake in October 2021 to a third party without his consent. 

As we previously reported, sources have told Page Six that the stars will be deposed in the case, but the trial date could very well be in 2026.

A rep for Pitt did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
