Tottenham head to Norway looking to complete the job against Bodo/Glimt and give themselves the opportunity to end a woeful season on a high.

Spurs have underperformed this term and currently sit just two places outside the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Salvation has come in the form of the Europa League and they now stand just 90 minutes away from the final in Bilbao on May 21. Their most likely opponents are Manchester United – who lead Athletic Bilbao 3-0 from the first game in Spain – and we appear set for an all-English final to determine who wins the trophy and qualifies for next season’s Champions League.

The first leg in North London seemed plain sailing for a Spurs side, who went in front inside the first minute through Brennan Johnson with James Maddison and Dominic Solanke also on target. But Ulrik Saltnes’ late consolation threw a spanner in the works and means the second leg is more delicately poised than Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou would have liked.

Even Bodo coach Kjetil Knutsen admitted: “That goal gives us hope for the home game, because at 3-0 I think we are out – that’s too big a gap.”

Postecoglou’s early-season boast that he always wins a trophy in year two at clubs has plagued him for months and defeat here, or in Bilbao, would likely spell the end of his time in charge.

Spurs come into the game on the back of a tame 1-1 draw at London rivals West Ham, their fourth successive league game without a win.

In contrast, Bodo have been performing well since the resumption of their domestic league and the weekend win over KFUM was their third in four outings.

They are also very strong at home having beaten the likes of Porto, Olympiacos and Lazio in their run to the last four.
