Beyoncé’s mom reacts to rumor singer was paid $10M for Kamala Harris rally
Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, is her protector.
The 70-year-old matriarch took to Instagram on Saturday to shut down a rumor claiming the “Break My Soul” hitmaker was paid $10 million to appear at Kamala Harris’ Houston rally in October.
“So this has been flagged on Instagram as fake news and taken down. It’s called False Information,” Knowles captioned a screenshot of a blurred-out post originally shared on Candace Owens’ podcast account.
“Sadly other platforms with a lack of integrity still have it up.”
“The lie is that Beyonce was paid 10 million dollars to speak at a rally in Houston for Vice President Kamala Harris,” the proud mom continued.
“When In Fact : Beyonce did not receive a penny for speaking at a Presidential candidate Vice President Kamala Harrris’s [sic] Rally in Houston.”
Knowles further claimed the Grammy-winning pop sensation, 43, entirely foot the bill to attend the rally.
“In fact she actually paid for her own flights for her and her team, and total Glam,” Knowles added of her daughter.
Knowles claimed the rumor was not only harmful to Beyoncé, but also to Harris — who lost the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump.
“They are not only lying and disrespecting Beyonce’s name but they are trying to further discredit the power of our vice president!” she wrote.
“When does [sic] the lies and rumors stop? Of course you won’t see this in the news !!!!!”
John Legend — who performed at Harris’ rally in Philadelphia — shared his support for Knowles’ message in the comments.
“Let em know, Ms Tina! We all performed/appeared for free because we care about our nation’s future,” the “All of Me” singer, 45, wrote.
Beyoncé officially endorsed Harris when she made an appearance at the Houston rally alongside Destiny’s Child bandmate Kelly Rowland.
“I’m not here as a celebrity. I’m not here as a politician,” Beyoncé, who shares three kids with husband Jay-Z, said onstage.
“I’m here as a mother, a mother who cares about the world our children live in, a world where we have the freedom to control our bodies, a world where we are not divided, our past or present or future.”
Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey also shut down an allegation that she was personally paid by the Harris campaign.
Although the TV personality’s company Harpo Productions received a $1 million payment for the “United for America” town hall in September, Winfrey claimed she “was not paid a dime.”
