‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ Exclusive Clip: Aesha Scott Stands Up For Herself Against A Rude Charter Guest
It takes a lot to make Below Deck Mediterranean star Aesha Scott angry, but if you do, you had better watch out! This week’s episode of the beloved Bravo show features an entitled group of charter guests who will undoubtedly put the crew of the Mustique through their paces! One guest in particular presumes to know place settings and dining etiquette better than the Chief Stew of a luxury motor yacht.
In this exclusive clip, the guests are in the middle of the fish course during Scott’s dining service. Clearly emboldened by alcohol, charter guest Neysla begins to complain: “What’s going on here? The utensil situation is off.” Soon, she brandishes her knife before the group. “Why do I have a butter knife? Where is my knife?” asks Neysla. “Where is my bread and butter?”
As the rest of the charter guests look on warily, she continues: “I remember being little and my mom put a VHS tape on that was all about etiquette.” As Neysla explains how her mother wanted her to learn about “utensils” and “place settings,” another guest tries to deflect the situation. “I feel like I’ve seen enough place settings that have been right, but then when it’s not, I’m not sure.” The group laughs as Scott comes in to start clearing plates, having her enough.
Scott goes back into the staging area and complains to her stew, Elena “Ellie” Dubaich. “She’s holding the fish knife and is like, ‘this is a butter knife!’” The camera cuts back to Neysla at the table. “I don’t wanna be rude, but should I tell her?’ asks Neysla to the group. They don’t have time to respond before Scott is back clearing the table. Neysla calls Scott over. “I was looking for a knife. This is a butter knife,” Neysla says condescendingly.
With amazing restraint, Scott ignores her tone and answers her firmly: “It’s not. It’s a fish knife.” Shocked by Scott’s response, Neysla turns to her friend and says sharply, “Oh, she’s gonna school me!” “Yeah, I’ve worked in service a very long time. That’s a fish knife,” replies Scott. “It’s because fish isn’t supposed to be tough; it’s supposed to be smooth so it just cuts through.” Embarrassed that she was rightly corrected in front of her group, Neysla snaps at Scott as she continues to clear, “well, your caviar service sucked, just saying.” Scott says nothing and walks away.
In her confessional, Scott speaks her peace. “These are people who claim they are from the upper class and it’s like, ‘well, where is the class part?’” ‘I am experienced enough and I’m good enough at my job that I actually don’t care if biting back at these guests gets me in trouble,” continues Scott. “I’ve got to stand up for myself at some point.”
The camera cuts back to Neysla at the table angrily dropping the fish knife. “Fucking butter knife,” she says under her breath. As Scott walks back through the living room, she mutters: “Fuck this shit.”
Tune into tonight at 9/8c to find out if Scott and the yachties will sink or swim with this group of demanding character guests.
