Aroldis Chapman signs with Red Sox in MLB free agency

The Yankees will be seeing a lot more of Aroldis Chapman in 2025.

Their former closer is signing with the rival Red Sox on a one-year contract worth $10.75 million, The Post’s Jon Heyman reported Tuesday morning.

Chapman, 36, spent last season with the Pirates, pitching to a 3.79 ERA with 98 strikeouts in 61 ⅔ innings.

He also notched 14 saves in 68 appearances.

Chapman played parts of seven seasons with the Yankees, recording a 2.94 ERA with 453 strikeouts and 153 saves in 294 ⅓ innings.

The flame-thrower, a seven-time All-Star, fell off during his final season in The Bronx in 2022, pitching to a 4.46 ERA in 36 ⅓ innings.

That season was filled with plenty of drama, as Chapman missed a month late in the season after getting a leg infection from a tattoo.

He was then left off the Yankees’ ALDS roster after blowing off a team workout before the start of the series.

Chapman, who spent his first six seasons with the Reds, signed with the Royals for the 2023 season, recording a 2.45 ERA in 31 games before he was traded midseason to the Rangers, with whom he won his second World Series ring.

He was part of the curse-breaking Cubs championship team in 2016 after the Yankees dealt him to Chicago in the Gleyber Torres deal.

The Yankees and Red Sox are among the teams pursuing top free agent Juan Soto, along with the Mets, Dodgers and Blue Jays.
