Anthony Edwards explains excitement in facing Kings: ‘It’s even more fun now cause they winning’
As he experienced a thrilling and grinding atmosphere in Sacramento, Anthony Edwards couldn’t be more delighted to feel the intense basketball play on facing the rising Kings team.
As such, following their tight match on Saturday wherein the Minnesota Timberwolves eventually prevailed, the star shooting guard detailed the competitiveness and excitement he received on playing within Golden 1 Center.
“It’s even more fun now cause they winning and those fans… It was packed tonight! So it’s even more fun. I love Sac man, they’re my favorite arena.”
The Timberwolves posted an early 17-point edge in the third quarter of the match. Tapping his bench units in Kessler Edwards, PJ Dozier and Alex Len, the Kings got nearer and fired an 11-0 blitz to respond late.
Behind Edwards’ 27 points and eight assists, he propelled Minnesota to take away a 138-134 victory from the shot exchanges of both sides in the final frame. With 32.8 seconds left, the first-time All-Star churned a clutch jumper to pull his team for a much bigger momentum in crunch time which slashed Sacramento’s sizzling five-game win streak.
Amid the close loss, the Kings remain in position to appear in the playoff stage this 2022-23 campaign with a 37-26 card – third best in the Western Conference. The franchise is determined to snap its 16-year postseason dry spell that stands the longest in NBA history.
