Anthony Davis is pumped up and eager to meet the Memphis Grizzlies in the first-round bracket of this year’s Playoffs.

With the Tuesday 108-102 Play-In win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Los Angeles Lakers filled the seventh-seed of the Western Conference and earned the right to face the top-two team Grizzlies.

“Good team, young and scrappy. Obviously Ja [Morant] is the head of the snake, [and] Jaren Jackson Jr. Obviously to have guys that’s not going to be playing like Steven [Adams], Brandon Clarke, but they’re still a good team and they are there for a reason,” Davis said in his presser.

“Even without Ja, they’ve won basketball games so they’re a tough team. We’ll do our normal scouting and prep work for him but it’s gonna be fun and interesting series.”

This 2022-23, the Lakers got a 2-1 upper hand on their three-game regular season series against the Grizzlies. On their last matchup back on Mar. 7, Davis powered L.A. with a monstrous double-double of 30 points and 22 boards for a 112-103 dub.

In two games that he appeared in the 2022-23 season series with Memphis, Davis averaged 29 points, 20.5 boards, and 3.5 blocks in over 56 percent shooting. As Steven Adams (knee) and Brandon Clarke (Achilles) are out for the playoffs, the star big man has to certainly capitalize and feast on the shorthanded frontcourt enforcers of the Grizzlies, albeit he will be tested against Defensive Player of the Year candidate in Jaren Jackson Jr.

The Lakers and the Grizzlies will collide for Game 1 of their first-round series on Sunday in FedEx Forum.
