Amy Slaton, ‘1,000-Lb. Sisters’ Star, Arrested On Drug And Child Endangerment Charges

1000-Lb. Sisters star Amy Slaton (also known as Amy Halterman) was arrested on Monday (Sept. 2) in Tennessee and charged with drug possession and child endangerment.

Slaton, 36, and Brian Scott Lovvorn were both arrested in the parking lot of the Tennessee Safari Park after police arrived to investigate an incident of a visitor being bitten by a camel, per Page Six.

When authorities approached Slaton and Lovvorn’s car, they were “immediately overtaken by suspicious odors coming from the guest’s vehicle,” per a Facebook post from the Crockett County Sheriff’s Department.

Subsequently, Slaton and Lovvorn were both arrested on illegal possession of Schedule I, illegal possession of Schedule VI, and two counts of child endangerment.

“The charges and allegations referenced in this release are merely accusations of criminal conduct and not evidence,” the Sheriff’s Department post notes. “The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt and convicted through due process of law.”

Slaton and her sister Tammy are the subjects of the TLC series 1000-Lb. Sisters, which has run for five seasons on the network. The two women — who weighed over 1,000 pounds combined at one point —  have had their lives chronicled on the show since 2020, revealing everything from their relationship issues to weight loss surgery and family life.

Amy had been married to her husband Michael Halterman up until 2023, when he filed for divorce. The former couple share two children, Glenn and Gage.

Season 5 of the show concluded in February 2024; it’s unclear if and when Season 6 will air or if Amy’s arrest will be featured on the show.
