Alperen Sengun on going to NBA: “I didn’t listen to nobody”

Turkish sensation Alperen Sengun, making waves in his third NBA season, stands as one of the league’s burgeoning talents.

With an impressive stat line this season, boasting a career-high average of 20.2 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 32.8 minutes per game, Sengun has become a force to be reckoned with.

In a candid revelation on Podcast P with Paul George, the 21-year-old center reflected on his path to the NBA, defying the advice of those who urged him to hone his skills in Europe before making the leap.

Despite having a tempting $2 million offer from EuroLeague powerhouse Fenerbahce, which would have made hime one of the best paid players in Europe, Sengun opted for the NBA, mindful of the potential financial implications of a buyout.

Recounting his bold decision, the No. 16 pick in the 2021 draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder asserted, “I didn’t listen to nobody.”
