Achille Polonara to undergo a four-week cycle of chemotherapy
Achille Polonara, after the discovery of a testicular neoplasm that led to surgery, is now set to undergo a cycle of chemotherapy.
Virtus Bologna officially announced that this treatment will keep him away from the court for the next four weeks, pushing back his anticipated return to action to at least the end of November.
Having returned to Italy after stints with Baskonia, Fenerbahce, Anadolu Efes, and Zalgiris Kaunas, Polonara faced a challenging start in the EuroLeague opener against Zalgiris Kaunas, going scoreless and experiencing a defeat in the first game of the European season.
In the Lega Basket Serie A (LBA), he has maintained an average of 6.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game thus far.
After detecting a testicular neoplasm and undergoing surgery, Achille Polonara will now follow a cycle of chemotherapy 🤞🏼
