Aaron Rodgers gives Jordan Love advice after record $220M deal

Aaron Rodgers has some ideas for how Jordan Love should spend the money from his newly earned $220 million Packers contract.

“I want to give a shoutout to Jordan Love becoming the highest-paid player in the NFL. J-Love, don’t spend it all in one place,” Rodgers said on an NFL Network appearance Saturday. “But if you do, I still have a house in Green Bay that’s up for sale.”

Given that Rodgers left Green Bay officially in April 2023, it stands to reason he’s had some trouble offloading the property.

Love, who is now making $55 million annually, could help.

His deal includes a record $75 million signing bonus and $155 million in full guarantees, ESPN reported Friday.

The yearly average of $55 million is tied for the highest in league history.

Love, who threw for 4,159 yards and 32 touchdowns in his first year as a starter last season, was drafted in 2020 as an eventual replacement for Rodgers, likely hastening his exit from Green Bay.

Nonetheless, he led the Packers to the postseason and a wild-card round victory last season.

Rodgers, through no fault of his own, saw his season slip away after just four snaps, tearing his Achilles in Week 1 against the Bills — leading the Jets to another miserable season after a summer of high expectations.

This year, refreshed from a trip to Egypt, Rodgers is hoping to deliver what he could not in 2023.

“As far as my beloved Jets fans, you know what, I got to meet a great one out in Tahoe and he’s passionate just like the rest of you men and women are,” Rodgers said on NFL Network. “It’s gonna be an up and down season. Probably a lot more ups and downs, but just stick with us. Obviously we want to stay healthy, obviously we got big dreams.

“It’s been a rough stretch the last 13 years, but the tide is turning.”
