LeBron James’ former Associate implicated in doping investigation
As reported by Mike Fish of ESPN, federal investigative documents have implicated Ernest “Randy” Mims, a longtime friend and business manager of NBA superstar LeBron James, in the infamous Biogenesis investigation, also known as “Operation Strikeout.”
The scandal, which unfolded a decade ago, led to the conviction of clinic mastermind Tony Bosch and the suspension of several prominent athletes, including Alex Rodriguez, Nelson Cruz, and Ryan Braun.
Mims, who is described as the “manager of LeBron James” in the investigative documents, has been a key figure in James’ inner circle for years.
While federal authorities claim to have found no evidence suggesting that Mims or David Alexander, a prominent trainer who has worked with James, provided performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) to athletes, their involvement in the investigation raised questions about LeBron’s potential connection to PEDs.
However, the lead DEA investigator clarified, “There was never any indication that LeBron James did anything wrong” in relation to PEDs.
The documents also revealed that Alexander was identified as the personal trainer of James’s wife, with no direct implication of LeBron James in any wrongdoing.
