Draymond Green details his calf situation in Game 6
Draymond Green revealed that he was dealing with a calf issues during Game 6 of the Western Conference Semifinals against the Lakers.
The four-time NBA champion did not return to the game since the middle of the fourth quarter as the Warriors were trailing by 22 points.
During the postgame press conference Green revealed that Golden State’s general manager Bob Myers told him not to back in the game because the game was basically lost and it was not worth risking getting a serious injury.
“As far as my calf, I don’t know if it was a cramp or if I pulled it a little bit, but when I went back to the back, it loosened up, so I figured it was just a cramp,” Green said. “I would have went back in the game.
“Bob [Myers] stopped me, he said ‘We’re down 22 points with five and a half or six minutes to go. You go back out there and tear your calf and then you’re rehabbing the rest of the summer trying to chase a 22-point lead. It’s not smart and we’re not doing it.’ So I could have went back in the game and I think that’s a good sign.”
