Transfer rumours abound ahead of a turbulent summer at The Bridge – Talk Chelsea

Chelsea have been linked with an array of international stars as they bid to rebuild following a chastening season.

As Frank Lampard’s struggles as interim manager continue, the appointment of a permanent replacement looks to be ever more imminent, with Mauricio Pochettino now no bigger than 1/16 to take over at Stamford Bridge according to experts at bookmakers.tv.

The comings and goings of players look far less certain though. Mason Mount may well have already played his last match in the Chelsea blue, after Lampard admitted the midfielder has “potential for the last game of the season but probably not.” Furthermore, Mount has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool, and is now seen as more likely to be plying his trade at Anfield than Stamford Bridge next season.

The list of potential Chelsea signings is long and varied. Interest in Declan Rice is well-documented, while Moisés Caicedo may provide an alternative option in midfield.

Attacking solutions to this season’s troubles are also predictably being sought, with a bid to bring Tammy Abraham back to London amongst the options. Harry Kane would be quite a coup given Chelsea are increasingly unlikely to be in Europe next season, although the opportunity to reunite with Pochettino may prove attractive for England’s record goalscorer.

Once last attempt to get a tune out of Romelu Lukaku could also be on the agenda, while Victor Osimhen would be an intriguing signing off the back of an outstanding season where he has led Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years.

Odds for selected players to join Chelsea during the summer transfer window:

  • Mason Mount (to stay) 9/4
  • Wilfried Zaha 4/1
  • Victor Osimhen 6/1
  • Declan Rice 6/1
  • Moisés Caicedo 6/1
  • Tammy Abraham 6/1
  • Neymar 8/1
  • Kyle Walker 8/1
  • Harry Kane 10/1

Odds correct as of 1pm, Thursday 27th April 2023, and are subject to change.
