Al-Nassr are preparing the ‘Contract of the Century’ to persuade Cristiano Ronaldo to remain in Riyadh, according to reports in Spain.
Spanish sports daily Marca, which is based in Madrid where Ronaldo played for so many years with Real, claim the Saudi Pro League side are desperate to renew the Portugal striker’s deal that expires on July 1.
Saudis willing to throw money at Ronaldo
Marca suggests Al-Nassr are putting together a 12-month contract that will see Ronaldo earn a staggering £155million a year. That converts to £2.98m a week, or £425,000 a day.
The 40-year-old remains the face of the rebirth of Saudi football, even if his club have yet to earn a major trophy.
Ronaldo has scored 98 goals and added 19 assists in his 110 games for Al-Nassr since moving to the Middle East from Manchester United in January 2023.

Mixed night for Ronaldo
He scored, and missed a penalty, in yesterday’s 2-0 win over Al-Khaleej in his club’s final home game of the league season.
Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Ronaldo, who had not featured in his side’s previous three matches, sent a low spot kick wide 25 minutes from time as Al-Nassr faced the prospect of going a fourth home game in all competitions without a victory.
Fellow forwards Sadio Mane and Jhon Duran came to the rescue in the 75th minute when the Colombia international headed in the Senegal superstar’s cross.
Ronaldo atoned for his aberration seven minutes into added time, converting for his 24th league goal of the season and first in three appearances.
The winner of the golden boot last season, Ronaldo’s total puts him three ahead of Al-Ittihad’s Karim Benzema, Al-Ahli’s Ivan Toney and Al-Shabab’s Abderrazak Hamdallah.
Julian Quinones, of Al-Qadsiah, is on 20 goals, while Al-Hilal’s Aleksandar Mitrovic has 18 and Quinones team-mate Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is tied on 17 with Mitrovic strike partner Marcos Leonardo.
Ronaldo’s previous goal came during a 4-1 win away to Japanese side Yokohama in the AFC Champions League on April 26.
