Chappell Roan demands apology from photographer at Olivia Rodrigo’s concert film premiere
Good luck, babe!
Chappell Roan demanded an apology from a photographer on the red carpet at “Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour” on Friday night — one month after she told a different photographer to “shut the f–k up.”
Roan was posing for photos when she made eye contact, pointed out and walked toward an unidentified photographer who she claimed yelled at her at the Grammy Awards in February.
“You were so disrespectful to me at the Grammys,” she told the paparazzo, according to footage posted on social media. “You yelled at me at the Grammy party. Yes, I remember. You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology for that. You need to apologize to me,” Roan said.
The 26-year-old was heard saying, “No, no, no, you need to apologize” as someone working on the red carpet walked up and tried to intervene.
It doesn’t appear the redhead wearing a floral mesh dress got what she was hoping for.
This clash comes just over a month after the “Hot To Go!” singer was caught on camera yelling “You shut the f— up” at a photographer during the VMAs pre-show red carpet at UBS Arena in Long Island New York on Sept. 11.
Roan initially stepped back to adjust her medieval outfit before turning around and exclaiming “Don’t. Not me, b—-!”
Shortly after the incident, the “Pink Pony Club” singer recalled what led to the heated moment.
“This is quite overwhelming and quite scary. I think for someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying,” Roan told Entertainment Tonight. “And I yelled back. I yelled back! You don’t get to yell at me like that.”
Roan was named Best New Artist at the award show, but days later she took another controversial step and canceled concerts at the “All Things Go Music Festival” in New York and Washington, DC to focus on her mental health.
“I apologize to people who have been waiting to see me in NYC & DC this weekend at All Things Go, but I am unable to perform,” Roan wrote in an Instagram story on Sept. 27. “Things have gotten overwhelming over the past few weeks and I am really feeling it.”
Fans who traveled to the festival just for her were outraged.
“I spent over $900 on tickets for this festival for my girlfriend’s birthday [and] her canceling literally the day before is f—ing ridiculous. I’m so pissed off,” a fan wrote on Reddit.
“She has the right to her mental health, but she seriously lacks professionalism, and I hope she does right by the fans who have literally spent large amounts of money specifically to see her,” another commented.
The star, who has been diagnosed with severe depression, insisted that she wanted to “be present” while performing and seemingly wasn’t able to get that after feeling so much pressure in the spotlight.
In an interview with the Guardian, Roan claimed she had “Every symptom of someone who’s severely depressed” which included brain fog, poor focus, forgetfulness and what she called a “very lackluster viewpoint.”
