Liverpool defender lavishes praise on Slot after signing new contract
Jarell Quansah has credited new Liverpool manager Arne Slot’s style with playing a “massive” part in his joy at the club after signing a new contract.
The 21-year-old has been handed a new deal despite not featuring in the Premier League since being substituted on the opening day of the season, with The Mirror reporting that he has committed to the Reds until 2028.
“I couldn’t be happier at this minute,” Quansah told Liverpool’s website. “The way the new manager has come in, his coaching style has definitely been a massive part of that and I think it is the best club in the world for me to develop at and become a better player.
“The players around me, who I’m looking to work hard off and listen to, are the best in the position at the minute. There is probably no better place I could be.”

Quansah stats
Quansah made his senior debut in August 2023 in one of 33 appearances during the 2023-24 season, including a substitute appearance during extra time of Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final win over Chelsea.
The right-footed centre-back was a regular for England at youth level and named in their provisional senior squad for Euro 2024.
Ibrahima Konate replaced Quansah at half-time at Ipswich Town on the first day of the 2024-25 season, when Liverpool scored twice after the break in a 2-0 win.

The former Bristol Rovers loanee has subsequently been an unused substitute in all of Liverpool’s league and Champions League matches, although he played throughout Liverpool’s 5-1 win at home to West Ham in the Carabao Cup on September 25.
He featured for 82 minutes of England Under-21s’ 4-1 win at home to Austria in a friendly at Kenilworth Road on September 9.

Quansah contract, salary
Quansah’s previous contract was worth £15,000 a week, according to Rousing the Kop, which would make his salary £780,000.
Liverpool fans remain keen to see the futures of their out-of-contract starters resolved, with Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk having under a year remaining on their deals.
Slot, who succeeded Jurgen Klopp as boss in June, reiterated on Saturday that he did not have an update on the trios’ situations.
