Leeds to expand Elland Road to 53,000 capacity

Leeds United have announced plans to increase the capacity of their Elland Road stadium to 53,000.

The project will see the home of the Championship side expanded by more than 15,000 seats, with the work to be carried out over an extended period in order to limit disruption to the stadium in the meantime.

Once the work is completed it will make the stadium the seventh-largest club ground in England.

Leeds were relegated from the Premier League in 2023.
