Elton John Shares “Severe” Eye Infection Left Him With Limited Vision
Elton John is recovering from a scary eye issue.
The “Your Song” singer shared that over the past few months he has been dealing with “a severe eye infection” that has left him with only “limited vision in one eye.”
“I am healing,” Elton posted to Instagram Sep. 3, “but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye.”
The 77-year-old thanked his doctors and his family—including husband David Furnish and sons Zachary, 13, and Elijah, 11—for taking care of him as he’s been on the mend for the past few weeks.
“I have been quietly spending the summer recuperating at home,” he added, “and am feeling positive about the progress I have made in my healing and recovery thus far.”
Elton’s friends and fans were quick to share their get well wishes for the “I’m Still Standing” singer, with Billy Porter commenting, “Sending you all the love and peace that’s possible.”
