The match marked the end of Fernandez’s illustrious career, as the Spanish basketball legend had announced his retirement earlier this year.
In the game, Fernandez went scoreless in 15 minutes off the bench as Spain lost a hard-fought battle, 88-95.
Spain finished fourth in the group of death and was eliminated from the tournament.
