Simone Biles shares celebratory TikTok after Olympics triumph

Simone Biles had much to celebrate Sunday following her impressive performance in the all-around qualifier at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In a fiery video shared on her TikTok page, Biles – who posted the top all-around score of 59.566 to help propel Team USA to the top of the leaderboard at 172.296 total — could be seen dancing in her leotard as she readies for the all-around final Thursday.

“Don’t mind me acting a fool,” the seven-time Olympic medalist captioned the clip, adding the hashtags “Olympics,” “Paris” and “gymnastics.”

In her highly anticipated return to the Olympics stage following the “twisties” saga at the Tokyo Games, Biles earned scores of 15.300 on vault, 14.600 on floor, 14.433 on uneven bars and 14.733 on beam.

Though Sunday was full of jubilation for Biles, the day began with an injury scare as the four-time Olympic gold medalist appeared to tweak her leg while warming up at Bercy Arena.

Biles had her leg taped and performed, with gymnastics coach Cecile Landi stating afterward that the star gymnast “felt a little something in her calf.”

“I’m really proud of her and what she’s been through and what she’s showing the world what she’s capable of doing,” Landi said.

Biles, who took gold in the all-around during the 2016 Olympics in Rio, has worldwide support as she aims to add more Olympic hardware to her collection this summer.

The 27-year-old Biles withdrew from numerous events in Tokyo three years ago following the “twisties” phenomenon, when a gymnast can lose a sense of where they are while in the air resulting in a potentially dangerous landing.

Many of Biles’ 1.9 million TikTok followers flooded the comments section of Sunday’s video with encouraging messages as the 2024 Games continue.

“Go go go GOAT!!!! We love you!” one fan exclaimed.

“There’s nothing I would rather do than wake up at 530 on a Sunday to watch the 5 of you. UNREAL. UNMATCHED. UNBELIEVABLE.” another posted.

In addition to Biles, the most decorated gymnast in U.S. history, Team USA’s gymnastics team is comprised of Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles, New Jersey native Helzy Rivera and reigning Olympic all-around champ Suni Lee, who placed third in the all-around Sunday with a score of 56.132.
