‘You owe the people answers’

MILWAUKEE — Multiple senators confronted Secret Service director Kimberly Cheatle on Wednesday evening at the Republican National Convention.

“This was an assassination attempt, you owe the people answers. You owe President Trump answers,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) chided during the confrontation.

She later posted a clip of the encounter on X, saying, “The American people deserve answers from the Secret Service.”

She was joined by Sen. John Barrasso (R-Wyo.) who looked animated.

“It is appalling that the Secret Service Director refused to answer our questions. This is one of the greatest security failures in the history of the agency. She can run but she cannot hide. She is a failed leader and she needs to immediately step down from her position,” Blackburn said in a statement to The Post.

The Post contacted a Secret Service spokesperson for comment.
