Current, former Giants react to assassination attempt on Donald Trump

On Saturday evening at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, former President Donald Trump was shot in the right ear in a failed assassination attempt. The alleged shooter was “neutralized” by Secret Service snipers.

In addition to the wound suffered by Trump, one rallygoer was killed and two others were critically injured.

The Secret Service quickly swarmed the former President, rushed him to a waiting car, and escorted him to a local hospital. He was later discharged.

“I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social, hours after the incident.

The attempted assassination was immediately denounced across the political landscape, from President Joe Biden to former President Barrack Obama and from candidate Robert F. Kennedy to former President Bill Clinton.

In the aftermath of the attempt on Trump’s life, several current and former members of the New York Giants chimed in, joining athletes from across American sports.

Several other Giants-related figures also shared their thoughts on social media.
