The 76ers are prepared to offer Jimmy Butler a max extension if he leaves the Miami Heat. Keith Pompey of The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that the Sixers are monitoring Butler’s contract situation closely.
The Sixers see Butler as a backup option if they can’t sign Paul George in free agency. Sources indicate that the 76ers are ready to offer the Heat star a maximum-salary extension if he forces a trade from Miami.
Butler is set to earn $48.8 million with the Heat next season, with a player option for the following year.
