In their last meeting, Tyrone Tracy Jr. had just one carry for two yards while Devin Singletary had 16 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown. Since then, Tracy has carried more of the load than Singletary and is now the team’s leading rusher.

Unfortunately, Tracy is also in concussion protocol, but it’s positive that he practiced on a limited basis on Thursday. If he can go, the Giants need to lean on Tracy even more this week as the Commanders allow the fourth-most yards per carry with 5.1, and Tracy averages 5.2 yards per carry. Even without Tracy, Singletary is a very capable running back who can handle the load alone if he has to.

Keeping the ball on the ground allows the Giants to control the clock and there’s less risk of turning the ball over. Plus, the Commanders have one of the worst third-down defenses in the league, so gaining yards in those moments has to be on the ground.
