6 keys to victory in Week 3

Last week, the Giants didn’t force a single punt. It’s like they’re trying this “bend but don’t break” philosophy and it’s not working. The Washington Commanders scored on seven of their eight drives, with that final one being a kneel-down to end the first half. The only reason the Commanders didn’t score a touchdown is because they shot themselves in the foot with penalties.

The Giants’ opponents are 2-for-2 on fourth down, they have achieved four first-downs via penalty, are 7-for-7 on field goals, and have punted just four times. Meanwhile the Giants have punted eight times in two games. This is a problem. The defense has to force an actual punt and not allow opposing teams to put points on the board.

As an aside, creating a turnover is just as effective as forcing a punt. So long as the offense gets he ball back.
